Soo...

So my friend Marcos is leaving San Fran to move to Miami. Everyone I know who has done the same move has been right back, and hated Florida, so good for him he's subletting his flat. Saw him off tonight, and I'm glad I went.

Been thinking alot lately about the last year of my life. I've been a bit down lately, and realized it was because of crap that went down a year ago, and it made me think about the last year and where I am now compared with a year ago. Last year seemed to last forever. This year, since I've been seeing my sweet thang has flown by, and what a ride it's been. So happy!

Again, sorry if we haven't been seeing each other lately, I really am trying to make time with people. I think I'm going through another more introverted phase, but if you're feeling neglected call me.

Oh yeah, LiveJournal...

Just checking some friends posts and realized I haven't posted anything in months. I'm still suffering from NGS (New Girlfriend Syndrome) and haven't been seeing people, updating Myspace or LiveJournal, etc.
So- things are going great. My girlfriend the rock star still rocks my world, getting on fine with her kids. My job is sucking ass, but they're still paying me so I keep showing up. The scoot has a NEW (like, new, out of the box) engine which really solves alot of the engine problems it was having. The electricals, well, still an issue but I have a solution, but it costs bucks so I'll just keep charging the battery at home for now. The motorcycle, well no progress.
Went to Santa Cruz this weelend with Caroline & the sprogues to visit my mom. I think she realizes this as close to grandkids as she's likely to get. The weekend was good, beach BBQ Saturday & Boardwalk Sunday. The 5 year old insisted on going through the haunted house, and of course almost shit himself. Oh well.
If I haven't talked to you in a while, I'll be getting back into the world soon, no, really.

My motto is "They're not my kids". Wanda Sykes has a great bit in her stand up routine about watching her nieces & nephews. As long as they're alive when the parents come home, her job is done.
I was thinking about that Monday when I watched Caroline's two boys. It was the first time I'd been alone with them and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous, but it was fine. We watched Wallace & Gromit, I ordered pizza (not healthy I know, but...not my kids!) and only had one spill and one banged head before Caroline came home. Not bad. The best part, I actually had fun.
I hear the four year old is starting to realize he's going to be sharing Mom's affections, and is having some issues with it, but he still likes me and hopefully things will work themselves out soon enough.

SF's Champion Wet Weather Drivers

I'm riding home this morning on my roomies plastic scoot (with parts in my bag for the Vespa) when Jack-Holio decides to make a left turn into the right hand lane, the one I'm in, less than a car length in front of me. I grab some brake and down I go, sliding down the road (with my armored safety gear safely dry in my garage). I didn't even stop to check the bike (or myself) but picked up the still running bike and goosed it down the road til I catch him at the light at 19th Ave and start beating on his window screaming. He and his woman freak out, the light turned green and he took off into the park. I thought about following him but the bike doesn't handle wet very well so I just continued home.

The bike is OK, I got a couple scrapes. My new Treo in the side pocket of the side I slid on scrubbed a Treo shaped rectangle out of the cloth but doesn't have a scratch on it.

At least I have the satisfaction of seeing the piece of shit driver chicken and run in front of his woman. "Remember when you ran away from that guy on the scooter?"

Ugh! What a shit-hole.

/rant

Bellingham, Washington...

That's where I'm spending the last half of my vacation, Bellingham. So far it's been pretty good. I had to fly into SeaTac, which was sucky. I hate Seattle. Every time I've been there, there has been bad mojo. I think that city has it in for me and I've promised it I'd never go back, but since the plane ticket was cheaper that way and it was a gift, through Seattle I passed.

Grandma and an aunt live here, and its been great to see them. Grandma moved here a few years ago, and I haven't seen her since she moved. She looks better than ever, is doing great and my aunt is doing well too. All is well.

I got a hotel room last night since space looked sparse (I came up with Mom and step-Dad
), and as much as I love the family I wanted to get away for a bit. After getting dropped off downtown, I was pleased to find my skills are still pretty sharp. In a town I've never been in before it took 20-30 minutes to find the spot. Fun, drinking and cool music ensued,
making it necessary today for a greasy breakfast and a nap.

So far so good, except I'm missing my woman ALOT. Can't wait til Tuesdays sushi date with my Sweet Thang.

Back from the Edge of the Western World

Just got back from my annual camping trip with some old friends. This year makes nineteen years in a row I've gone out to the coast with this crew. Weather was beautiful hiking in Thursday, Friday was real nice too. Saturday and Sunday were cool foggy and damp. Today hiking out, the rain started as we were hoisting our packs on, and was only heavy for a brief stretch near the end. Not so bad.
It's always good to see alot of these guys (it's a men-only trip) since I don't really see many of them the rest of the year anymore, but they're still good friends. It's good to be able to catch up, hear about their kids, etc. The other side of the coin is seeing someone and thinking "Fuck, I forgot how annoying he is..."

Missed my woman something awful, and I won't get to see her tonight; as one of my former co-workers from Korea used to say "That is suck." Only 14 more hours.

Hopefully with a few days off this week I can make some headway on my bikes. The P200 I ride everyday needs lots of love, the CB350 is close to running, and the other P200 needs almost everything. Right now it's a straight frame and a set of engine cases. I'm hoping to get everything road worthy this summer.

I've reached the next level in relationships. When I was younger, meeting the parents was a big deal (I still get freaked by it). Later, as I got older, I realized meeting the girls best friend was very important. If you don't get along with her best friend, things will not go well. My new lady-friend has brought me to the next step - meeting her kids. I've spent two Sundays with the crew now, and it's been great. The seven year old and I play video games together, so we're cool. The four year old, I'm convinced will remember me soon, and may even talk to me at some point in the near future. One down, one to go....
C told her kids Monday night that her and I were boyfriend/girlfriend, and said they took it well. At their age, I think it's more like words, words, words, Holy Crap, Mom just kissed that guy! I think her telling them is a sign of commitment more than anything else she could've done. Looks like I'm stuck in this for a while, and I couldn't be happier.

Sucked In

Having heard of Livejournal for years, I managed to avoid it until my girlfriend mentioned she'd posted something about me here. I signed up so I could read it, then myspace ate an hours worth of work I'd written about my trip to Vegas for the High Rollers Weekend scooter rally. So here I am.
I haven't been posting on myspace much lately, or even changed the music (which I used to do a few times a week) as I've been spending as much time as possible with my new lady. My friends have been leaving me lots of messages in the last few weeks along the lines of "You fall off the face of the earth, or what?". Well, that's how things go when you meet someone new, I guess.
It's still very new, but I can honestly say there's nowhere I'd rather be than with my Sweet Thang.
So deal with it people, I'll get back to you when I can.
